Lost: Season One Along with Desperate Housewives, Lost was one of the two breakout shows in the fall of 2004. Mixing suspense and action with a sci-fi twist, it began with a thrilling pilot episode in which a jetliner traveling from Australia to Los Angeles crashes, leaving 48 survivors on an unidentified island with no sign of civilization or hope of imminent rescue...

The Dharma Initiative Recruiting Project

From the "What Is This" section of DharmaWantsYou.com:

Dharma Wants You is an online experience connected to the ABC TV show LOST.

The story follows a fictitious scientific community from LOST, The Dharma Initiative, as it attempts to recruit and assess volunteers for a secret research project.

By completing an 'Eligibility Test' and registering on dharmawantsyou.com audience members enroll as volunteer recruits for the Dharma Initiative.

Each week audience members will have the opportunity to complete a test that assesses their abilities in a particular skill.

The Dharma Initiative Recruiting Project, also simply known as "the Project", is the official title ABC is currently using for the new alternate reality game taking place between Season 4 and 5 of Lost. As part of the Octagon Global Recruiting event, a legal document for prospective candidates revealed the title within the terms and conditions section. The ARG is developed by the Lost writers, in conjunction with Australian marketing agency Hoodlum (who were also behind the Find 815 game).

It should be noted that the document says ABC is "preparing" the game, meaning the ARG at this time may be in its preliminary stage. Also the shortened form "the Project" could potentially be legal jargon as part of the release form, which coincidentally mimics the longer title.

The game's current main site was at Dharmawantsyou.com. It was stated on the site that a series of aptitude tests will be run over the space of weeks for fans to play. There is also a leaderboard on the site, suggesting such subsequent tests will be scored. It is possible that coming clues will present themselves simply in the course of these tests (meaning this alternate reality game is more explicitly structured and similar in nature to Find 815 than The Lost Experience).
